When Indrajit Ghosh, VP, Atlas-SmartIMS, first heard about a large Midwest healthcare organization looking to upgrade its phone systems, it was a scenario he had seen many times before. Through years of mergers and acquisitions, the $5 billion organization had 30,000 employees (including about 2,000 physicians) working at the organization’s 15 hospitals, 200 clinics, and 100 pharmacies. Also, among the 300+ facilities were dozens of disparate and legacy phone systems.
