Trustifi's Analysis Tool Helps Enterprises Improve Security, Lower Costs, And Increase ROI
Just as a report reveals a targeted Microsoft security flaw, Trustifi’s new tool shows companies how to get best-in-class protection at a reduced cost through a layered approach
As businesses across-the-board face contracting revenues and a potentially sluggish economy, leading SaaS email cybersecurity provider Trustifi has launched a cost-analysis calculator to help enterprises reevaluate and improve their security strategies. The tool helps demonstrate that enterprises in a variety of vertical markets can attain superior security protection by combining Microsoft’s more basic E3 solution with Trustifi’s specialized, cutting-edge security solution; as opposed to using Microsoft’s broader E5 solution alone.
Trustifi’s straightforward cost-analysis tool can be accessed here. When users input the number of seats in their organization, the tool immediately shows the savings on a monthly and annual basis that would result from combining Microsoft’s E3 offering with Trustifi’s comprehensive, sophisticated, relay-based email security solutions, compared to the E5 package. In addition, a recent study reported by media like CPO Magazine and Computer Weekly showed that Microsoft 365’s email security allowed certain phishing attacks to bypass its defenses, giving further credence to the layered security approach as opposed to a single-vendor policy.
Companies that use Microsoft E3 in combination with Trustifi will still receive many of the powerful security-related capabilities included in the E5 offering such as Insider Risk Management, Advanced e-Discovery & Audit, Information Protection & Governance, and more. Yet through this more diversified strategy, they will gain additional industry-leading features like AI-powered filters with optical character recognition to combat the sophisticated, contextual threats that are now targeting many C-level executives. Users also can take advantage of Trustifi’s easy-to-use, government-grade AES-256 encryption and its One-Click Compliance capabilities. Plus, specialized security software tends to come at a more competitive per-user price than some of the market’s best-known brands. For instance, Trustifi’s award-winning cyber security solutions cost $7 per user, per month.
“There’s a misconception that Microsoft’s E5 solution—or any single solution—is sufficient as a blanket security offering,” began Maor Dahan, CTO and co-founder of Trustifi. “Businesses now face a multitude of evolving threats
from highly motivated malicious actors. They need to be more strategic in their security implementations. Combining the E3 package with a highly effective solution like Trustifi can deliver more state-of-the-art functionality. In the process, enterprises may realize a cost savings, elevating the ROI of their investments. Our analysis tool is an easy way to see how much companies can gain from this model.”
The Numbers Don’t Lie
An enterprise with 500 seats will spend $28,500 on Microsoft’s E5 solution, based on the suggested price of $57 per seat, per month. Comparatively, the combination of Microsoft E3 ($36.00/seat) and Trustifi ($7/seat) would cost that same company $21,500 per seat per month. That’s a savings of $7,000 per month, or $84,000 per year.
Similarly, an enterprise with 2,000 users would save $28,000 per month if they switched to E3 and Trustifi—or a whopping $336,000 per year—compared to the E5 package. And in both cases, users get superior security with a greater range of advanced features, consolidated together covering both inbound and outbound email data protection.
The CPO article on Microsoft’s recent email security shortcomings claimed that hackers specifically targeted this vendor, taking pains to “design and test each phishing attack to ensure it bypasses Microsoft’s default security defenses.” This scenario in which a major traditional security solution fails has become far too common in the marketplace. It also illustrates how important it is for companies to layer their security stacks, ideally including a specialized solution that delivers a greater array of advanced features. Such an approach is wiser than relying on a single provider—even one as entrenched as Microsoft.
Trustifi’s solution, for instance, can detect content-based phishing attacks that many conventional, SEG-based security solutions let pass. SEG solutions simply aren’t designed to interpret context within a message, such as a nefarious request from a hacked executive account asking for a wire transfer or for sensitive personal credentials. SEG (security email gateway) solutions rely on a blacklist/whitelist approach, which screens-out mail from known malicious IP addresses but does little to thwart these convincing “imposter” attacks.
