Steve Salmon has been EVP of Enterprise and Channel Sales for Field Nation since the end of 2019. He builds, transforms, and leads high-performance sales, presales engineering, solutions marketing, and sales enablement teams around SaaS and XaaS products and services. Steve recently took a break from his never-ending mission of refining and improving value-based selling approaches for better customer outcomes and sales results to answer some of our questions.
Q: Cost is always top of mind for field service organizations, but especially so during periods of inflation. What changes are you seeing in field service costs?
Salmon: As in other industries, costs in the field service space are up right now. Specifically, field service costs are up about 8% YoY, and we’re seeing that impact service companies’ bottom line across three key dimensions: travel, labor, and equipment costs.
