A conversation with Randy Funk, Galaxy CCRO & Frontera Equity Growth Advisors, LLC.
Summarize your background/professional experience.
Funk: I have more than 40 years of multi-industry (consumer products, medical, logistics, private equity, social services, and technology) executive experience, growing companies both on a national and international scale. I’m Currently CEO of Galaxy CCRO, Inc., a clinical research organization.
I’ve held strategic positions, as well as tactical positions in marketing, brand management, and executive leadership with companies such as Procter & Gamble, U.S. Freightways Logistics, and Marquez Brothers International.
What is one interesting/humorous/entertaining fact about you?
Funk: I have worked in multiple industry verticals. Each vertical had some remote link that connected me to the next, ending today in Clinical Medical Research. We will be developing IT resources as a key component of our human medical solutions.
What verticals do you serve and what services and technologies do you sell?
Funk: Consumer products, medical, logistics, private equity, social services, and technology. I have consulted with turn around larger companies, total startups, middle market growth companies, and emerging companies as a consultant and mentor. Today my medical research company is developing a point of care stroke timer to facilitate a lifesaving drug application where data will be collected to build a massive worldwide demographic information base to improve recovery from stroke for people around the world.
What is the best sales opportunity on your 12-to-18-month horizon?
Funk: Our point of care stroke timer with an App that support treatment and data collection for both immediate treatment and long-term system improvements in treatment protocols.
What threatens that opportunity?
Funk: Our own human technical shortfalls in building a state-of-the-art App and clinical process to refine the test.
What could accelerate it?
In the context of running your business, what apps/tools/utilities could you not live without?
Funk: Our yet to be developed stroke patient information App.
