Are File Servers Even Needed For Your Smaller MSP Customers Anymore?

Even though more and more work is taking place online, many companies are still tied to their file server. It is understandable – and in many cases simply necessary, because applications are still linked to the file server, and integrations are built on current technologies. Besides, sometimes they've made such an extensive archive that they don't dare to migrate to SharePoint yet fully.
And the simple answer to this question/title is that in the present time, it's so easy to leverage OneDrive for Business and Sharepoint to store company files now, that it brings into question whether that on-premise file server is even needed anymore. So, businesses should only utilize these tools properly, and no headaches or additional issues will arise.
However, those files stored in the cloud still need to be active and be at your disposal at any time, and a backup service such as Office 365 Backup for MSPs should be appointed in order to have everything in place. The point is that critical data should be stored and kept safe, so that you won't lose any fundamental structures of your MSP.
