How MSPs Can Automate Fixing Backup Job Failures

Bocada has played a major role for nearly twenty years in automating the backup data collection process and simplifying backup performance monitoring and reporting. However, since Bocada’s inception major shifts have happened in IT operations, including the push to drive increased automation across IT systems and processes and the need for dev ops professionals to manage increasingly complex architectures with fewer and fewer resources.

These evolving dynamics led Bocada to explore ways to introduce additional automation within the backup and storage space to further minimize manual processes, reduce human error, and increase data protection. A clear opportunity arose in the failure remediation process.

Backup failures often derive from similar underlying causes, and therefore require similar remediation approaches. This allows us to take a the traditionally hyper-manual process of backup failure remediation and automate it, all by hooking into IT automation tools like Ansible, Chef, Puppet, and many others.
