Managed service providers (MSPs) often struggle to be successful or to even stay afloat when they focus too much on acquiring new customers and not enough on keeping the clients they have. They fail to understand that the longer their client relationships last, the more profitable they become. It’s a no-brainer from a cost perspective as well, since acquiring a new client costs seven to 10 times more than retaining an existing client through contract renewal. The best way to solve this dilemma is by placing equal emphasis on each stage of the five-stage managed services life cycle.

As cloud adoption continues to grow among small and medium businesses (SMBs), Microsoft Azure has emerged as a popular option. When SMBs run workloads in Azure, they agree to a shared responsibility model. The best business decisions are often made based on senior leadership’s confidence in facts, figures, and calculations made by appropriate parties within the organization. Zero trust is sometimes presented as a way of stopping things from happening, for example, blocking unauthorized clients. That misses the point. A hidden appeal of zero trust is that it offers the possibility of improving the management of network resources, users, and data in ways that also lower costs and make technology adoption easier.
